Benefits of ClariVein

Michael F. Gioscia, MD, FACS, ABVLM, is a well-known vascular surgeon and vein specialist who leads our team at the Vein Institute of Westchester in White Plains, New York. Rather than offering a one-fix-for-all treatment for the cosmetic and physical effects of varicose veins, Dr. Gioscia has extensive experience in all possible solutions.

During your initial consultation, Dr. Gioscia takes time to fully evaluate your leg veins and devise the most effective treatment plan. Read why he considers the innovative ClariVein® system one of today’s most effective remedies for bulging or discolored veins.

What is ClariVein?

ClariVein is a highly effective, incisionless varicose vein treatment that combines mechanical destruction with sclerotherapy to seal even large varicosities without pain.

The ClariVein system utilizes a uniquely designed catheter several times smaller than those used in laser and other ablative treatments. This allows Dr. Gioscia to access the targeted vein via a pin-sized entry point.

Dr. Gioscia performs this in-office treatment using advanced imaging technology to ensure accuracy as he guides the catheter through the damaged blood vessel. Then, as he withdraws the catheter from the vein, the rotating tip delivers sclerosing agent in a 360-degree pattern that effectively coats the inner vein walls.

This action causes the vein to close, eliminating the visible bulging and discoloration associated with varicose veins.

What are the benefits of ClariVein?

ClariVein is a highly effective varicose vein remedy that offers the convenience of an in-office treatment. It’s also quick, usually 30 minutes or less, and eliminates both the cosmetic and physical effects of varicose veins, including leg swelling and pain.

The unique catheter size and advanced imaging technology used during the therapy make it a very precise treatment, eliminating the risk of damage to surrounding nerves and other tissue structures.
